The vacation approval depends on the Process configuration value configUseApprovalMatrix. If you did not decide to use the approval matrix, your supervisor will receive an approval step for every request. The supervisor may approve or reject the request by giving a reason (See image Approve vacation no.: 2). In case of an approval, the employee receives an e-mail including a calendar entry, so he does not have to worry about anything more.

 

If you decided to use the approval matrix, the approval steps defined in the process configuration will be used. The approval steps depend on the number of requested vacation days.
